Here at South Ogden Post Acute, we believe that activities are so much more than bingo and painting fingernails. We provide activities that are designed to appeal to our resident’s interests and enhance their highest level of physical, mental and psycho-social well-being.
We encourage residents to participate in activities to promote self-esteem, pleasure, comfort, education, creativity, success and independence. Because our residents vary so much in both generation and mental capacities, we offer two distinct calendars.
The first calendar is for our higher functioning, more independent, and “younger” generations, which offer things that include: Shopping outings, movies, picnics in the park, trips to museums, groups that involve learning new things, community service projects, craft projects, sock monkeys, reminiscing, and physically active games.
Our second calendar is geared toward our lower functioning, older generations, and dementia residents. This calendar utilizes aspects of the “Flow program,” which believes that if one activity is not working, we “flow” into another that is more beneficial towards the group. Therefore, our activities on most afternoons, start at 2:00 pm and just have some activities listed for that time. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to any of our great activities personnel.
